Reviews and Ratings
The hotel was onto a residential street but ended up providing the requested double room after some hassle. The service was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, despite a flustered start. The location was brilliant for being close to Birmingham city center and the festival we were attending, but not ideal for sitting in. The dining experience was good, with excellent staff, and the facilities were of good quality. Price was fair, considering the overall experience.
The hotel has a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, although basic, were clean with nice amenities like tea and coffee. The big bed was incredibly comfortable, but there were some cleanliness issues like a cracked sink and a blockage in the sink. The service was good overall with friendly and helpful staff, despite some initial room odor and a hot toilet cistern issue. The location is convenient with easy access to the city center and a welcoming atmosphere. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with a mix of great breakfast and some discrepancies in pricing. The facilities were decent, although there were some concerns about dampness in the basement dining area.
The hotel had some ups and downs. The rooms were clean and beds comfy, but the mix-up with room assignments was frustrating and it would have been nicer if the rooms were cooler. The service was exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff, but the lack of breakfast included in the price was a downside. The location was great for football fans but could be problematic after a game, and though close to the train station, it might not be ideal in heavy rain. The dining experience was top-notch, especially with freshly cooked Indonesian food, but the distance from the city center could be inconvenient. Overall, the hotel offered modern facilities, but some improvements can be made on the value for money side.
